There was a free Theater on Ice exhibition at Sharpstown on Friday, June 19th. The Iceland Encore! and the HATS (Houston Adult Theater Skaters) teams put on a great show as they skated their competition programs. HATS competed in Chicago June 26 & 27. Iceland Encore! will be competing in The State Games of America July 26 - August 2nd in Colorado Springs.
The Sharpstown skating school hosted the "Beat the Heat" Basic Skills Competition on August 8th at Sharpstown. Thanks to all of the Iceland FSC members who entered or volunteered to work at the event. This will be an annual event and we hope to see you next year.

June 20, 2009: Skate for Hope, Columbus, Ohio Shannon Keeler skated in the 6th annual Skate for Hope. Skate for Hope utilizes figure skating, a sport that epitomizes women’s strength, to bring attention, resources and education to fight against breast cancer. Each year, over 100 figure skaters from the Columbus, Ohio area, come together to celebrate life, the survivors and the hope for a future free from breast cancer. In addition to these local skaters, Olympians and National Champions join the cast to present a spectacular show, honoring those that have been touched by this disease.
Iceland members competed at the State Games of America in Colorado Springs July 26th - August 2nd. Madison O'Neal won the GOLD medal in her free skate and the Iceland Encore! Theater on Ice team came home with silver medals. Congratulations to all.

4th Annual Star of Texas Adult Open Figure Skating Competition.
Iceland FSC of Houston will host the Star of Texas on February 13th, 2010. Applications are due December 19th, 2009. Futher details are on the Adult Skating page.
